Additional Info:
"John spent 40 years as a teacher of Gaelic and History along with other subjects in Daliburgh Junior Secondary School. His knowledge and love of the Gaelic language, culture and Island way of life was evident. He had a very strong and deep faith which influenced his whole life. He had a very wide interest in world affairs and in community matters with a ready and appropriate remark for any matter under discussion. He had a particular interest in Southend Football Club. At heart he was a typical Islander. Despite his considerable ability, he was happiest in latter years surrounded by his family and running after the sheep. A large crowd turned out for the funeral Mass in the Church of our Lady of Sorrows, Garrynamonie, last Friday".
