"It is with deep regret that we record the tragic death of James Campbell, Casimir Place, aged 80 which occurred on Saturday 24 July in the Royal Infirmary, Glasgow. James was involved in an accident in his home and was immediately taken to Daliburgh Hospital and transferred from there to Glasgow. Unfortunately nothing could be done for him. His remains returned to Uist on Thursday night and the funeral Mass, which was celebrated by his nephew Father Angus MacDonald, parish priest of St. Rochs, Glasgow, took place in St. Peter's on Friday."
