==================
"We heard with regret the death in Glasgow of Mrs. Joanna MacLean, formerly Joanna MacInnes from Smerclate. Her husband, John MacLean, was lost at sea during the war and since then she herself lived in Glasgow. She was well known by the island folk for her friendliness and kindness. Her funeral was from St. Peter's where her son was the chief concelebrant." (Written by Mgr. MacKellaig in 1980)
