"Canon Morrison was Parish Priest of St. Peter's RC Church from 1980-1986.
He was born in Leanish, Barra, on 19th October 1919. At fourteen he entered Blairs College and four years later went to France . He was in the seminary in Bordeaux when the Germans overran the country in 1939. He escaped in a coal boat. He completed his studies at Bearsden and was ordained in Oban on 19th November, 1942. From 1942 to 1948 he served in Oban. He then became Parish Priest of the Small Isles (Eigg, Rum, and Canna) where he remained until 1952. He was Parish Priest of Bornish from 1952 until 1959 during which time he renovated the church to its present condition. From 1959 to 1962 he was Parish Priest of Morar and Mallaig. In 1962 he became Parish Priest of Ardkenneth. He was Parish Priest of Fort William from 1974 until 1980 when he then became Parish Priest of Daliburgh.
The Scottish Catholic Directory obituary of that year describes him as a ‘gentle, kindly, and humble man’.
He died suddenly on 6th December 1986 shortly after returning home from the ordination of Fr. Sandy Culley in Fort William. May he rest in peace".
