Additional Info:Mr. Johnstone passed away after a long illness in Gartnaval Hospital. He was a vibrant member of the Community, and participated on several Committees; including the Lochboisdale Community Council. He was a Ghillie (a Scots term that refers to a man who acts as an attendant on a fishing expedition, primarily in the Highlands & Islands) and spent many hours with fishermen in South Uist waters.
Fr. Calum MacLellan, who concelebrated at the Requiem Mass, gave the homily and spoke of Mr. Johnstone as a loving husband and father as well as an upright member of the local Community.
Deacon Martin Matheson also participated in the funeral and gave the final commendation at the gravesite.
May "Neillie" rest in peace.
